Decorative Hardware

Decorative hardware serves as the visual accent or "jewelry" of the kitchen.

·      Knobs: Single-screw fasteners. They are available in round, square, geometric, and novelty shapes.

·       Bar Pulls: Sleek, linear handles. They feature a modern bar that often extends past the screw posts.

·       Cup Pulls: Semi-circular, hooded handles. They are traditionally used on drawers in farmhouse kitchens.

·       Drop Handles: Two-piece hardware with a swinging pull. They add an antique or vintage feel.

·       Tab Pulls: Minimalist edge-mounted handles. They mount to the top or side of the door for a seamless look.

·       Appliques: Decorative wood or resin carvings. They are glued to the surface of valances or hoods.

·       Corbels: Carved wooden structural brackets. They support countertops, shelving, or range hoods.

·       Cabinet Feet: Decorative bun or turned wood feet. They give base cabinets a freestanding furniture look.

Popular Finishes & Materials

o    Matte Black: Bold, modern, and highly resistant to fingerprints.

o    Brushed Brass: Warm, luxurious, and pairs well with dark cabinetry.

o    Satin Nickel: Classic, versatile, and features a soft brushed texture.

o    Polished Chrome: Highly reflective, clean, and perfect for contemporary spaces.

o    Oil-Rubbed Bronze: Deep brown with copper undertones for traditional styles.

o    Acrylic & Glass: Transparent elements combined with metal for a glam aesthetic.

Functional Hardware

Functional hardware focuses on operation, movement, and structural integrity.

·         Concealed Hinges: Hidden inside the cabinet door. They offer a clean look and are often 6-way adjustable.

·         Soft-Close Hinges: Prevent doors from slamming. They gently pull the cabinet door shut in silence.

·         Standard Drawer Slides: Side-mounted or under-mounted runners. They facilitate basic drawer opening and closing.

·         Soft-Close Slides: Hydraulic mechanisms for drawers. They ensure a smooth, quiet, and automatic close

·         Full-Extension Slides: Allow drawers to open completely. They provide total access to the back of the drawer.

·         Touch Latches: Push-to-open mechanical latches. They eliminate the need for exterior knobs or pulls.

Oldja Enterprises sells Decorative Hardware such as knobs and pulls by themselves,

but does not sell cabinet components like hinges, glides etc.

How do I clean granite? How do I clean quartz?

For daily maintenance, both granite and quartz can be cleaned with lightly soapy warm water.  Be sure to wipe off the excess water with a cloth to avoid streaking.

Can I cut on my granite or quartz countertop?

It is not recommended as it will ruin your knives, although it should not damage the surface.  Both quartz and granite are harder than your blade.  We always recommend the use of a cutting board.

Do quartz or granite countertops stain?

Quartz countertops are stain-resistant, but they are not completely stain-proof. While quartz is engineered with a non-porous resin binder that stops liquids from sinking in like natural stone, certain pigmented materials or harsh chemicals can still discolor the surface if left too long.  It is possible for granite countertops to stain, but it is highly unlikely once they are sealed properly.  Granite is a natural stone with tiny spaces between its minerals. However, they are highly stain-resistant when properly sealed and maintained.

Can granite or quartz countertops chip?

Only if it is severely abused with a hammer or impact tool, but it is highly unlikely when used as intended.  A quartz or granite countertop used for normal kitchen uses will last a lifetime with minimal maintenance

What is the difference between granite, quartz, and marble?

Granite and marble are naturally formed stones. What is commonly referred to as "quartz" for countertops is actually a man-made material composed of crushed natural quartz and epoxy.

I have a small project. Do you sell granite remnants?

Yes, please visit our showroom to see all available remnants.

All About Cabinets

I care about quality at an affordable price. How can Oldja Enterprises help me?

We carry a wide range of ready-made and semi-custom cabinet door styles. All of our cabinets come standard with dovetail joints, soft-close drawers, and 100% wood boxes. Visit our showroom to speak with our designers.

Details matter to me. Can I add a spice rack, wine glass holders, or lighting?

Yes! We have a wide selection of hardware, molding, specialty cabinets, and accessories available.

What is the difference between "stock" and "semi-custom" cabinets?

With stock cabinets (also called "RTA"), what you see is what you get. You can visit our showroom to see the 150+ door style/color/wood combinations that are available. With semi custom cabinets you have the ability to change the paint or stain color of the door style. You also have more size and detail options available with semi custom cabinetry and this is why they are more expensive.  Both semi custom and stock (also referred to as RTA cabinets) are high quality, all wood products with soft close doors and drawers. A semi-custom style allows for more customization, such as color or design, on standard size cabinet boxes. This requires more time to manufacture and ship than RTA options.

Do you offer custom cabinetry?

Yes, we work with a local custom cabinet shop to provide full custom cabinets for jobs that require custom cabinet box sizes in addition to full control over door design and color.

My dream remodel requires taking down a wall. Do I need to hire a separate contractor?

Not necessarily. We are fully licensed and insured general contractors (CGC 1517184), able to provide true "one stop" service to those looking to do a full kitchen remodel. We will determine the scopes of work to be completed at time of contract.

What is a soft close drawer?

All of Oldja Enterprises' cabinets come standard with soft close shock buffer that prevents drawers from being slammed shut. This buffer gently engages the door and quietly closes it. You'll notice the difference!
